Course Home vs. Announcements "tool"

It looks like students (all users in fact) control what appears on the course home page. Moreover it looks like the Announcements tool is separate from the Course Home page. We need to think about how to handle this and perhaps how to control it (if we can.) What are the implications for instructors posting announcements?

    I do not forsee too many negatives at this point. Let's see if we can control the Course Home issue. The instructors will still post announcements, but the students may have to responsible for accessing them. I have to wonder how many students really read all of the announcements anyway. Regardless, we will work this out.

    I cannot seem to get the course banner to display when announcements is set as the entry page. I deleted "Course Home" in SCI 201 and have not been able to get it back.

    Barry, this should be reported to AJ for investigation. I recommend creating a ticket.
